ABOUT THE ALBUM
Mike Freedman’s latest album, Our Time in Space, features 11 tracks of original contemporary jazz, recorded live off the floor over two days at Canterbury Music Studios. Drawing on his love of jazz standards while embracing his own distinct musical voice, Mike crafts each composition around strong melodic content, leaving space for improvisation and personal expression from the players.
With more than 30 years of experience as a performer and composer, Mike’s sophomore jazz release takes the listener on a lyrical journey through the expressive playing of his new quartet. The recording has an organic quality and a strong sense of consistency, capturing the spontaneity, interaction, and musical chemistry that emerge when musicians create together in the moment.
