Mike Freedman is a professional guitarist, composer and instructor based out of Toronto, Canada. His versatility has allowed him to be involved in a wide array of music projects, performances and recordings. Mike graduated cum laude from Berklee College of Music in 1990 with a degree in Film Scoring as well as jazz performance and has been actively involved in the music scene ever since. Prior to attending Berklee, Mike spent several years studying classical guitar under the well respected teacher, Eli Kassner.
Over the years Mike has recorded two singer/songwriter CD's of his own material, as well as two CD's of instrumental guitar music. Mike has also played on many other CD's and continues to perform in original bands in the greater Toronto area as well as in the US and Europe.
As a composer, Mike has written the score for three feature films and many short films. He is also an active co-writer, having helped write songs for many other artists including; Tia Brazda, Ed Roman, The Willows, Steven Taetz, Barbra Lica, Ian Jutsun and Simone Morris. Mike recently produced Simone Morris's debut recording which debuted at #1 on the Itunes Jazz Charts in Canada
Mike runs a home based recording and teaching studio and is currently a guitar instructor at Metalworks Institute in Mississauga
